2022 Programs
2022 EVENTS AT PUBLIC LIBRARIES
Each spring, as we celebrate National Library Week, public libraries across Long Island participate in Long Island Reads, the island-wide reading initiative sponsored by the Nassau Library System and the Public Libraries of Suffolk County. In addition to the annual Selection Award Event, to be held this year on Sunday, May 1 at 2 pm, numerous individual libraries will be hosting book discussions and related programs intended to enhance their patrons’ understanding of the year’s chosen book and its themes. Our 2022 selection, The Living and the Lost by Ellen Feldman, brims with a spot-on timeliness in its concern about the lasting damage of a culture of hatred while delivering a riveting look at the days and months leading up to the building of the Berlin Wall, its consequences and its lasting impact on individuals. Listed below are a sampling of related library programs across Long Island.
